Sheep Raising

Today, more than 400,000 sheep graze on the pastures in Switzerland. They are of little importance to farmer revenues, but the small ruminants are important for the cultivation of the landscape. They graze meadows, pastures, high-lying alpine pastures and even steep slopes, where cattle can no longer graze. Sheep can subsist on little fodder and are hardy animals.
