Feed Growing

80 per cent of the basic forage for productive livestock consists of so-called roughage such as grass, hay, aftermath, corn silage, field beet and some other crops growing on alpine pastures, 640,000 ha natural meadows, 160,000 ha ley grass farming as well as on fields and arable land. In addition, farmers feed their cows and cattle with 20 per cent concentrate from Switzerland and abroad.
