Vegetables
In Switzerland, 5,000 vegetable farmers cultivate more than 80 different kinds of vegetables and thus cover about 50 per cent of the domestic needs. 40 per cent of the vegetables are processed and preserved and another 40 per cent sold fresh; the remaining percentage being vegetables in storage or cultivated in greenhouses.
